Simply research relevant content thanks to meaningful and clear filing structures.
By using the keyword search function, you can obtain an overview of the collected knowledge of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung relating to one topic in a matter of seconds. This enables you to not only save time during your research. You also obtain an extensive overview of everything that has already been compiled and published in regard to this topic. For this purpose, the system searches every text and provides you with direct access to information and documents.
Smart-fav2 features uniform filing which enables you to better understand content. You can see precisely what stage of a folder has been reached and who is actually processing it. You can therefore react accordingly.
Thanks to metadata, you can understand important information and/or find answers to questions such as the following: Who is the contact person for a planned event? Has the concept already been approved for our publication? Who created or changed a folder?
Smart-fav2 makes it easer for you to do research. Metadata relating to documents and folders mean that you will have better information quality in future. For activities such as events and publications, important substantive metadata will already be incorporated in the planning phase. Automatic history logs provide information about the history of folders. Interfaces to other KAS systems are available (MACH) or are planned (Liferay portal kas.de, CRM) in order to prevent multiple data maintenance.
A key topic will be recorded for every activity (event, publication, etc.) via fav2 with effect from 2021. In addition to other metadata, you can also transparently read and research this information.
Connect people and their work through one system all over the world.
Our new system digitally supports international cooperation of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. That's because you can now process documents through global cooperation and thereby obtain an overview of different versions.
Produce publications more easily and in a more structured form through uniform filing locations and defined workflows.
Work in your events, publications or research with a digital structure in which you can perform and understand all steps from conception through to the finished product. In future, a uniform KAS-wide filing system will be available to you to document your content work. Depending on the type of activities, the most important metadata will be stored centrally and transferred to other KAS systems. Evaluations can then be made based on metadata, e.g. according to keywords or target groups. You can communicate with colleagues via electronic circulation folders and cooperate without paper in workflows.
Work more flexibly with digital workstations which are equipped with all the necessary tools.
We will ensure that your workplace is organised in such a way that it fits in with our time. Whether in the office or at home, our new system enables you to access and work with the data of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung from any location.
Our system digitally supports action management by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung at home and abroad. Every year KAS implements around 14,000 substantive activities all over the world. These activities extend from events, publications and scholarships through to research projects.
Thanks to Smart-fav2, you can process documents through worldwide cooperation and therefore always have an overview of document versions. With effect from 2021, documents relating to all the substantive activities of the KAS will no longer be filed in network drives (e.g. H:\), but will be processed solely via fav2.
In terms of its functions and structures, Smart-fav2 is a “stripped-down” modern version of the current fav2 software. Smart-fav2 is currently still being developed. Productive rollout of an initial version is scheduled to take place in December 2020. This rollout will also include a design update for the current fav2. Both software versions are based on the same database. They need not be doubly recorded or migrated.
Anyone who is already interested in finding out about the new Smart-fav2 can now make use of an initial e-learning module on our learning platform:
You can still simultaneously use the current fav2 with all its functions – only with new icons from December 2020 onwards. The December update will also include a new version of the fav2 activity assistant for decentral creation of events and publications for example.
